Car Seat Tent/Nursing Cover
I am so excited to have another niece. So excited also that I am now more handy with my sewing machine. I just had to make a nursing cover/car seat tent. I also just had to make some fancy burp clothes. She can't be spitting up on anything that is not all dolled up.

Picked some homegrown fresh strawberries at my sister's strawberry patch today. We made strawberry shortcake and a yummy strawberry lemonade slushy. Found instructions for the slushy here.

I have been busy at work making Father's day gifts and baby stuff for my sister who is due in 5 weeks :D. Posts to come as soon as I can get some pictures. And also after I give my sister her things, then I will do a post about what I made for her and her baby. I've also been making pajama pants for Colton using a homemade pattern :D I'm trying to make a tutorial for those pajamas. So I hope I can get to posting soon.

Cake Balls
I first had a bite of one of these at a scout fundraiser. All it took was one bite and I was hooked. My sister and I made these for Mother's Day. They were amazing. I didn't take any pictures but I do have the link where I found how to make them along with a few suggestions. The link is www.bakerella.com/red-velvet-cake-balls/
My suggestions:
Use any cake mix but, strawberry cake with white chocolate was amazing!
Do not freeze them, just let them chill in the fridge.
You can also make them into suckers by putting sticks in the balls while they are chilling.
Also you can decorate them to make them look really cute.

Quiet Book
For my son's second birthday I made him a quiet book. Here is a quick look at the pages I have made. I plan on adding pages to it in the future and will post those pages as I get them accomplished.
The cover is made out of camouflaged duck cloth |
A pig, a duck, and a cow finger puppets hiding in the barn. There's also a chicken hiding in the top window. |
This page was inspired by the song. He loves to have me sing this song to him so I made it into a quiet book page |
I had to do a clock page. Anyone who knows my son cannot doubt that. |
I like to hide a treat in Daddy's wallet so he's excited to look through it |
This page is perfect for the cars and the Thomas train he likes to bring to church with him |
Button flowers I thought would be a great way for him to work on his buttoning skills |

Stroganoff
I realize there are many variations on stroganoff, but this is the one I grew up with and is by far still my favorite.
1 lb ground beef
2 cans Cream of Mushroom Soup
1 cup Sour Cream
garlic salt
Brown the ground beef. Add sour cream, cream of mushroom soup, garlic salt to taste. Simmer for about 15 minutes. Serve with rice or noodles.
* Notes: It is the best with rice. You can add a can of mushrooms which I like, my husband and two year old do not.

Car Seat Tent/Nursing Cover
I finally got this project done with six weeks left until my due date. I found the tutorial here at hippos and dinosaurs. It is one of my favorite crafting blogs to follow. I also wanted this to double as a nursing cover so I made it a bit bigger and added some boning and straps to one side. It turned out great and I can't wait until #2 gets here so we can try it out.
